Wee Grants and Transport Grants now open

Our new-look Transport Grants offer increased funding of between £5K-20K per year for 1-3 years. By supporting the costs of a vehicle, or transport costs more broadly, the fund aims to help charities deliver their services and remove barriers for people and places affected by poverty and trauma. This is in recognition that a lack of access to affordable, reliable transport can impact the ability to participate in society and thrive.

A key component of this fund is an increased focus on sustainable transport options. As a signatory to the ACF Funder Commitment on Climate Change, we are committed to playing our part in addressing the causes of climate change and supporting adaptation to its effects.

Meanwhile, our Wee Grants offer funding of up to £5,000 for constituted community groups and charities in Scotland with an annual income of less than £30,000. This marks an increase from the previous maximum of £2,000. Through these grants, we want to support organisations who are focused on building strong communities in places which have higher rates of poverty and trauma, or who are working with certain groups of people who are at a higher risk of experiencing poverty and trauma.

While these funds are open year-round with no set closing dates, it should noted that, in common with other funders, we are seeing no reduction in the growth in demand for our funds. We are now in the final months of a 3-year budget and will be entering a new 3-year plan from April 2025. This means that, over the next 6 months, there is likely to be strain on our budget. As our Wee Grants and Transport Grants are rolling funds, applicants who are not under pressure to receive a decision this financial year may prefer to wait to apply from April onwards.
