Evaluation of the Robertson Scholarship

Eexternal evaluation which carried out by the Scottish Centre for Social Research (ScotCen). The purpose of this evaluation was to build a fuller picture of how the schoalrship is perceived by scholars and externally and to gain a stronger understanding of which elements contribute to the biggest changes.

2023 Grant Holder Survey - Social Change

In June 2023, we hosted a survey for our grant holders. To ensure anonymity for respondents, we commissioned NPC to analyse the findings. The findings from this survey have been divided into two reports. One focuses on customer service questions which allow us to see how we were are working as a funder, and what we could improve to be more effective. The other shows what our grant holders are doing (if anything) around broader issues of social change. It also helps us to see where we might be able to offer better support to organisations. This publication is the report on social change. We have also included a link to the customer service report below.

Findings from The Robertson Trust's Grant Holder Survey 2022

This report shows the findings from our first grant holder survey under our current strategy. The aim of the survey was to help us to understand our effectiveness as a funder and to identify areas where we can make improvements. We commissioned NPC to analyse and report on the findings to ensure that grant holders’ responses were anonymous and the findings were objective.

Debt and Arrears in Scotland: Policy and Practice Development

Social Bridging Finance Model Evaluation

We are pleased to share the final evaluation report of Social Bridging Finance (SBF), a funding model which aimed to enhance the sustainability of public services, particularly those of a preventative nature. First commissioned in 2019, the evaluation with Iconic Consulting and Glasgow Caledonian University aimed to generate learning around each component of the model, from the early design stage to the sustaining of services. For The Robertson Trust, we were particularly keen to better understand the role of an independent funder in system change and use the learning to inform future practice.
