Over £2M awarded to organisations across Scotland in December

We are delighted to announce our funding recipients from December 2023. 74 organisations received over £2M to support their work to alleviate poverty and trauma across Scotland.

£2,011,000 was awarded to 74 organisations in December 2023, with a success rate of 86%. If you would like to receive our award announcements directly to your inbox, please sign up to our mailing list.

Currently, our funding is aimed at constituted community groups and registered charities who are working to alleviate poverty and trauma in Scotland, and who have an annual income of under £2 million. We have four funds under our strategy: Wee Grants, Small Grants, Large Grants, and Community Vehicles. Each of these funds is designed to be clear, transparent and accessible to meet the needs of those we fund and potential applicants, and make sure our funding is targeted. If you would like to find out more about our funds, please click here.

Each of the organisations below demonstrated in their application how their work is contributing to the alleviation of poverty and trauma in Scotland.

We have awarded £14,735,605 to 464 organisations since the beginning of this financial year. View a full list of our awards here.

Award Focus - Financial Fitness Resource Team

"Financial Fitness are Inverclyde's independent welfare benefit and money advice organisation. We provide free, confidential and impartial financial advice to help improve the lives of Inverclyde residents who may be struggling due to many factors, including the current cost-of-living situation. We try to ensure that each individual or family we come into contact with are claiming all the welfare benefits they are entitled to, whilst also providing advice on how they can save money, deal with their debts and budget more effectively.

Families in particular are struggling to cope in the current financial climate and are quite often further disadvantaged by a lack of skills, confidence and technology to access online benefits and cheaper goods and services. We are delighted that the Robertson Trust are investing in our organisation which, in conjunction with our digital partners, aims to improve the financial and digital skills of 450 local families in the next three years" Paul Findlay, Manager at Financial Fitness Resource Team

Our team says... "Financial Fitness has a well-tested, effective and holistic approach to the provision of welfare and money advice, supporting families and individuals affected by poverty in Inverclyde. Their support is tailored to individuals’ and families’ needs, with the aim of not only raising awareness of rights within a complex welfare system, but also empowering people to make informed future choices. We are pleased to be supporting their work for the next three years and look forward to learning from them as they progress.  " Wendy Knowles, Funding Manager
