We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Troup to our board of trustees.

The Robertson Trust is pleased to confirm the appointment of Kevin Troup to our board of trustees, where he will also serve as chair of our Investment Committee.

Kevin replaces Heather Lamont following her retirement earlier this year.

Our chair, Mark Batho, said: “We had an outstanding pool of applicants for this role and I’m delighted that someone of Kevin’s experience will be joining the Trust.

“As well as serving on the main board, his investment expertise and insight will be invaluable as chair of our Investment Committee. This is a pivotal role which will influence the proactive application of our investment strategy in line with our 2020-30 strategy.

“Kevin’s track record in investment management speaks for itself and I have no doubt he will be a huge asset as we work towards our vision of a fair and compassionate Scotland where everyone is valued and able to flourish.”

Kevin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 in London with Coopers & Lybrand. He started his investment career with Scottish Life in 1995, later becoming Head of Japan. In 2000 he joined Martin Currie Investment Management managing Japanese Smaller Companies. In 2004 he launched two Japanese Funds, a

Mid-Cap Fund and was co-manager at launch for the Daijiro Absolute Return Fund.

He retired in 2018 and is now a non-executive director at Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon plc, Baring Fund Managers Limited and TPI Fund Managers Limited. He is also on the Investment Committee at The National Trust for Scotland.
