DonnaMarie Steel has recently taken up the role of Project Development Manager (Scholarship) and will lead our Scholarship Development Team. She is joined by Scholarship Development Officers, Sofia Khan and Luke McWilliams. While both Sofia and Luke have most recently been working in our Scholarship Delivery Team, DonnaMarie has been leading our Education Pathways work.
For a fixed-term of two years, the Development Team will work with our Delivery Team to help shape the future of our Scholarship Programme, which has supported over 2000 young people in Scotland since launching in 1992. Our Delivery Team will continue to comprise of Annie Doyle (Scholarship Training Manager), Jemma Campbell (Scholarship Administrator), Gemma Manclark (Scholarship Training Officer) and Steven Nicholson (Scholarship Liaison Officer).
Potential development work could include broadening our bursary offerings across the wider post-16 education system and creating new partnerships for non-financial support in line with our strategic priorities for developing the scholarship.
The changes reflect our commitment to embedding cycles of continuous learning across our work. While our Delivery Team will continue to support current and new scholars, our Development Team will produce recommendations to ensure we are maximising our impact in preventing and reducing poverty and trauma in Scotland. These will be informed by extensive stakeholder engagement and discovery work, as well as insights from the Delivery Team. The team will also consider recommendations made in a recent evaluation of our scholarship, which we will publish in the coming weeks.
